To better understand how your donation can contribute to our efforts, please consider the following:

  • Every $5 donation provides approximately 35ft of Ethernet cable.
  • Every $25 donation supplies all the accessories used for an install.
  • Every $100 dollar donation covers the cost of one new device to add to our network.
  • Every $250 donation supports the building out of a rooftop hub which can expand the reach of the network to a block of homes.

You can donate once, or you choose to set up monthly, quarterly, or annual donations.

About Us:

Formed in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Philly Community Wireless is building community-controlled internet infrastructures in order to democratize access, promote digital literacy, and fight digital inequity with free, net-neutral broadband service in North Philadelphia.

We partner with residents, local non-profit organizations, and other public-serving institutions to ensure our network serves the interests and needs of communities. See more on our wide variety of partners here.

In the last three years, with the help of our wireless ISP partner PhillyWisper, we have installed our wifi infrastructure at almost 40 unique locations across the neighborhoods of Norris Square, Fairhill, and Kensington. You can see our live map here.

This year, in 2024, we plan to continue expanding our network across neighborhoods with the most acute digital needs in North Philadelphia, and your support can directly help make this happen.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Depends on a few factors like if you received a reward in exchange for the donation and the value of your donation above that rewards cost, etc. You may contact the nonprofit you donated to directly to receive information on whether or not your donation is tax deductible. Nonetheless, the emailed receipts you will receive for your donation is the documentation you need to make it tax deductible.

Is my donation and credit card info secure?
Yes, the security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations, and we will only share personal information if you have given us specific permission to do so.

How do I know that my donation was made successfully?
You will receive an emailed receipt immediately after your donation is submitted and your credit card is processed. Your donation will also show up on your bank or card statement within 1-3 business days.

Do I get a receipt?
Yes, a receipt is sent to your email inbox once your donation is processed. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each period when your donation is processed.

Is my donation private?
We will not share or sell a donor's personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.
